Dear Graham Habitat Supporter,
Habitat for Humanity of Graham Texas, chartered on January 1, 2006, has once again reached their goal with the successful construction and dedication of a new Habitat home in Graham, Texas in 2009. The Donna Burgess family including Samantha-15 worked a total of 300 hours of “sweat equity” since being selected as our 2009 Habitat partner family. Here are some quotes from Donna: “Samantha and I have come a long way,” she said. “We’ve come from nothing to everything. We’ve had so many hands touch that house, so many loving hands. There’s been so many people involved, and I never heard one person complain. God put us in that position to learn how to love,” Burgess said. “I learned so much just watching the volunteers come every week. It was amazing to think they were showing up just for me. I’ve loved every minute of it,” she said. “It’s been exciting. It’s been fun. The whole adventure has been a blessing to me!”
Local financial contributions and day sponsorship from 14 different churches, civic groups, and businesses
including Graham Rotary Club, First Presbyterian Church, Oak Street Baptist Church, Graham Lions Club,
Eddleman Real Estate, Wal-Mart, First Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church, Faith Center, Citibank,
Graham Bible Church, Citibank, Graham Banks – First National Bank, First State Bank, Graham Savings & Loan,
United Supermarkets combined with over 200 volunteers to help build another simple, decent, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1047 sq. ft. home during 12 hot Saturdays from April thru July 2009. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your past support of Habitat for Humanity of Graham Texas by the volunteering of your time or the giving of your resources.
Also, please accept our personal invitation to attend the upcoming Community Builders Breakfast on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 7:15-8:30 am at the American Legion Building for a free breakfast program sponsored by Habitat for Humanity of Graham.
The breakfast program will celebrate the completion of our fifth Habitat home in Graham and include past video
highlights, family testimonies, and goals for 2009 thru 2012, along with a challenge for your continued financial
and volunteer support. Please come and see how your contributions of time and money have multiplied as we
celebrate all God has done thru our Graham Habitat affiliate. Please RSVP by November 5, 2009 so we can
reserve you a seat by returning the enclosed card. If you cannot attend, please join us as we commit toward the future success of our Habitat Graham affiliate by returning the enclosed pledge. With your support, we will
continue to build affordable housing in “the best small town in the world.”
